Dutch life insurance provider, Aegon N.V., was founded in 1983 as part of a merger between AGO Holding N.V. and Ennia N.V. In addition to life insurance, Aegon N.V. offers pension services and asset management. The compan/s headquarters is in The Hague, but has operations in Brazil, Canada, China, India, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. Aegon N.V. also provides banking service in the Netherlands under the name "Knab".
Aegon N.V. is listed on the Euronext in Amsterdam, and is part of the AEX index. Trading with the stock symbol AGN.NV, Aegon N.V. first became available for trade in the 1980s, when the company began to float its shares. AGN.NV stock was originally listed on the Amsterdam and London stock exchanges. In 1991, the stock was also listed on the New York Stock Exchange for the first time.
From 2008 to 2014, Aegon N.V. was the sponsor of Dutch football giant AFC Ajax. The company was only the third sponsor in the football team's history at the time. Previous sponsors include TDK and ABN AMRO. Aegon N.V. has also sponsored other sporting events and associations, including tennis. |
