One of the largest asset management companies in the world, Amundi was founded in 2010 with the merger between Crédit Agricole and Société Générale. From its headquarters in Paris, Amundi manages its operations in Asia, Europe and the United States. The company corporate structure includes two main subsidiaries: BFT Investment Managers and CPR Asset Management.
AMUNA.PA is listed on the Euronext exchange and the CAC Mid 60 Component. The CAC Mid 60 features the top 60 French companies in terms of market capitalisation, after the CAC 40 and the CAC 20. The Amundi IPO took place in 2015, with a market capitalisation of almost €8 billion. The value per share of AMUNA.PA stock was €47. The IPO allowed Société Générale to sell its 20% stake in Amundi.
In 2013, Amundi purchased the American bond management firm, Smith Breeden Associates. At the time of the purchase, Smith Breeden Associates managed over $6 billion in total assets. The Amundi acquisition trend continued in 2014 with the investment fund, Bawag PSK. An additional purchase took place in 2014, when Amundi purchased Dublin-based Kleinwort Benson Investors. |
