The PIMCO Active Bond ETF is an exchange traded fund which seeks to track the investment results of the Bloomberg US Aggregate Index, an Index which represents a range of securities that are SEC-registered, taxable, and dollar denominated. The fund seeks current income and long-term capital appreciation, consistent with prudent investment management. The ETF was established in 1971 and is headquartered in Newport Beach, California.
The index covers the U.S. investment grade fixed rate bond market, with index components for government and corporate securities, mortgage pass-through securities, and asset-backed securities. The fund is actively managed using a risk focused approach and has more than 1200 holdings across a number of sectors, with an emphasis on high-quality, intermediate-term bonds.
The fund has, historically, consistently outpaced its benchmark index. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in a diversified portfolio of fixed income instruments of varying maturities and may invest up to 30% of its total assets in high yield securities. |
