Ryanair Holdings plc is an Irish low-cost airline carrier, headquartered in Swords, Dublin, in the Republic of Ireland, with primary operational bases in Dublin and at London Stansted airport. The firm is Europe’s largest airline group and operates a number of European airlines, including Ryanair, Ryanair UK, Buzz, Lauda and Malta Air. The firm was founded in 1984.
In 2017, Ryanair became the first European airline to serve over 1 billion customers, and in 2018, the company reported a 10 percent increase in full year profit. The firm offers connections to more than 240 destinations in over 40 countries throughout Europe, with additional flights to other destinations such as Morocco and Israel.
The company engages in other activities related to its core air passenger service, including non-flight scheduled services, Internet-related services, and the in-flight sale of food, beverages and merchandise. As of 2021, the firm had a fleet of 422 Boeing 737 aircrafts and 29 Airbus A320 aircrafts; and offered around 2,100 scheduled short-haul flights per day. The firm is listed on the NASDAQ where it trades under the stock ticker RYAAY. |
