The iShares Core U.S. REIT ETF is an exchange traded fund that seeks to track the investment results of the FTSE Nareit Equity REITS Index. This index is composed of a broad range of U.S. real estate equities. The fund is managed by Blackrock, a major investment and asset management company and global provider of exchange traded funds, which is headquartered in New York City. The fund was established in 2007.
The fund is aimed at providing investors with convenient and low cost access to diversified U.S. REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts) which results in broad exposure to U.S. real estate across a wide range of property sectors. Holdings include a wide range of REITs throughout the USA, with a mix of commercial real estate assets in a range of industries. The index measures the performance of U.S. listed equity REITs, excluding infrastructure REITs, mortgage REITs, and timber REITs.
The distribution frequency of the fund is quarterly. The fund will generally invest at least 80% of its assets in the component securities of its underlying index. |
